Robotic Surgery

Our Surgeons are trained in the use of the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, and use the technology in both the public and private hospital systems. Robotic surgery offers some advantages over traditional laparoscopic surgery including 3D vision, enhanced magnification, “wristed” instruments and scaling of movement. The surgical robot is controlled by the surgeon at all times via the surgeon console.

Robotics is not suitable for every circumstance, and in some cases there may be disadvantages when compared to traditional laparoscopic or open surgical techniques. Please feel free to discuss robotic surgery with your surgeon and ask if you could benefit from a robotic approach to your operation.
